Inspection Oilfield Services is a leading independent inspection and value-added service provider for Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) and drill tools with numerous fixed service locations and mobile operations serving all of the major oil and natural gas producing regions in the contiguous United States.

General Description

The Inspector performs NDT inspection on all downhole tool(s), including all parts in the bottom hole assembly. His/her job is to ensure that all tool(s) going downhole are crack free and that the tool(s) and connection(s) meet all IOS, customer and industry standards.

Essential Job Functions

Able to identify API Rotary Shouldered Connections and Drill Pipe body.
Ensures products are inspected according to IOS, customer and industry standards.
Ensures all work is performed within the parameters established by the Safety and Quality Departments as well as the customer requirements.
Provides customer service including, but not limited to, product inspection, scheduling and resolution of customer concerns.
Works with operations to ensure customer needs are satisfied.
Ensures daily reports and invoices are submitted timely.
Completes proper documentation and reports of services in an accurate and timely manner.
Abides by company policies and procedures.
Performs other related duties assigned.

Job Standards and Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must have drill pipe inspection experience and previous certifications to SNT-TC-1A in at least one of the following methods: MT, PT or UT.
Inspection experience with new/used of the following materials: OCTG, drill pipe, tubing or drill tool products is desired but not required.
Must have the ability to perform a wide variety of tasks and respond to short notice work assignments which may require travel to various job locations in Midland, TX and surrounding areas.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Must have proven ability to follow precise directions and understand procedures and specifications (i.e. API, DS-1, NS-1, NS-2, Etc.).
Must be able to maintain equipment to keep in proper working order and insure all equipment is within calibration dates.
Must have ability to manage and provide leadership to Trainees / Helpers.
Must be able to use a digital bore scope.


Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employee to communicate effectively.
Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employee to work safely and effectively in a shop environment.
Pass vision test
Cannot be color blind.

Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere. Environment may not be climate-controlled.
Interaction with other employees, as well as supervisors and customers.
Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
Must be able to work with numerous types of high speed grinders.
May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes.
May be required to travel out of town on an occasional basis.
