Logistics Supervisor- NGL

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The primary purpose of the Logistics Supervisor position is to provide overall direction, planning, and coordination of the transportation operations within the NGL group. 

 

The role will include working closely with company and plant personal, including marketers, schedulers, accounting, contract administration, field operations, and risk management.  In addition, the Logistics Supervisor will interact and negotiate with third-party contacts to facilitate product movement.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Management Duties

 

Plan, organize and manage the work of subordinate staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements.  Direct, through subordinates, activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking tank cars, trucks, and barges.

 Prepare management recommendations such as proposed lease agreements, rate increases, new system upgrades, or transportation related needs.  Recommend or authorize capital expenditures for acquisition of new equipment or property in order to increase efficiency and service of transporations department.  Provide overall financial analysis behind all potential projects and recommendations.

Develop transportation budget for department.  Maintain all records of OPEX expenses and ensure costs are within budget.  Ensure all required maintance and testing is done annually for all company owned transportation assets.  Research and work on new service agreements for service companies if needed.

  

Accounting

Point of contact between NGL Scheduling and Accounting to resolve price, quantity, and shipment issues associated with NGL and Y-grade movement invoices.  Works with Accounting to develop new policies to increase efficiencies of both departments.

 

Compliance/Contracts

Works closely with Risk Management to ensure adherence to controls as defined by Company Policy.  Establishes General Terms & Condition agreements with customers as needed and maintains NGL Marketing contracts.
