Seraphim Solar System to start trial operations for 300MW manufacturing facility in US

US-based manufacturing unit of China's Seraphim Solar System intends to soon start trial operation at its new solar factory in Jackson, Mississippi.

The solar photovoltaic (PV) module factory will be set-up in two phases, with an initial annual production capacity of 300MW.

Formal manufacturing and operation for phase one of the facility is expected to start in November.

Within the next three years, the production capacity of the Seraphim Solar Manufacturing USA facility is likely to be expanded to up to 1GW.

Solar modules produced at the facility will be able to meet the diverse needs of customers across North America, Seraphim Solar said.

The facility is expected to manufacture multiple varieties of solar equipment, which will include DuraFlex modules able to bear up to 8,000Pa mechanical load, intellectual modules with integrated 'smart' technology, 'EzBox' configured with three junction boxes, and Twin-Glass modules for specialised roof projects.

Seraphim global executive GM Justin Xi said: "Solar energy has become the leading source of renewable energy globally, creating a strong 20-year cycle of growth for our company.

"We are extremely excited that customers in the United States can now utilise the most trusted products that other countries around the world have relied on: Seraphim products."

Seraphim USA is finalising construction of the facility in-line with the Chinese company's global strategy for business growth.

The firm will also initiate operations at its third Seraphim Changzhou (China) facility, which has had its capacity increased to 1.1GW.

Including the US and China, the firm has a footprint across 30 countries. The expanded distribution network maintained by Seraphim Solar System has penetrated ten major countries, including the UK, Germany, and Japan.

By the end of July, the firm secured certification from Solar Insurance and Finance (SolarIF), which entitles its clients using approved modules to insure their projects with the option inherent defect from Solar Insurance supporting the warranty of the products.
