Operator Maintenance Technician

POSITION SUMMARY: 

 

This position is responsible for monitoring and maintaining all equipment associated with and not limited to remote compressor stations, valve sites and pipelines.  This position will also occasionally assist and perform engine and compressor maintenance and repairs.  This position is responsible for the daily operational duties associated with and not limited to the process of gathering, scheduling and transportation of natural gas and natural gas liquids. Some of these duties will include compressor and engine preventative maintenance, assisting with compressor and engine overhauls, station loss control, testing and monitoring of engine and compressor performance, maintaining, operating and repairing gas dehydration equipment.  The position will have the ability to give assistance to construction, operations and other staff mechanics on an as needed basis.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Monitoring of engine and compression performance
Scheduled maintenance and overhaul of equipment
Maintain engine run hour records, oil sampling and maintenance records
Insure environmental compliance in emission testing program
Maintain and record compressor run data sheets
Control and minimize repair expense through strong preventative maintenance plan
Comply with all EH&S guidelines
Reporting any unsafe condition or situation that would compromise the integrity of any Markwest equipment or locations
Maintaining clean and safe working environment
Making any or all repairs as deemed reasonable and safe
Compressor station operations and automation.
Operating a company vehicle
Maintaining the company vehicle and equipment at all times to ensure safety to him/her and the equipment that he will operate
Order equipment as needed

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Must have integrity while representing MarkWest Liberty
5 years of industry experience
Self motivated with the ability to work well with others
Strong organizational and supervisory skills
Ability to train and motivate others
Ability to coordinate, prioritize and execute many tasks at once

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Working Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions and with flammable liquids. The employee frequently works in high, precarious places and exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, acidic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly use hand tools, computers, phone, fax, copier, map printer/plotter and analytical electronic devices, buried pipe line locators and operate a motor vehicle.
