To enhance our execution from discovery to delivery ("lab-to-fab"), we are adding talented people to our team.

The Plant Leader is responsible and accountable for developing the operating strategy for the production facility at that location, aligning the annual plant goals to the strategy, cascading the goals and then supporting the team with the direction, resources and motivation to achieve or exceed the goals. The Plant Leader must lead in a way which demonstrates the importance of the "what" and the "how." She must lead her team to implement change in a feedback rich environment which generates mutual respect and committed team members. Results must be achieved in a sustainable fashion. The Plant Leader is expected to be able to thrive in a fast paced and very dynamic environment.

Job Responsibilities:

Sets clear direction for the organization by providing pinpointed expectations for HSE, quality and productivity performance.
Reinforces desired behaviors of the team and redirects undesired behaviors.
Is able to lead the team to develop process and systems to achieve sustainable results. Does not rely on brute force techniques. Builds the strength of the management systems so results are sustainable.
Is able to form effective partnerships with leaders of other organizations and functions to align on shared strategies and goals.
Makes decisions with a view towards what is best for Air Liquide Advanced Materials, what is best for the plant, what is best for the individual. Seeks win/win outcomes.
Makes data based decisions. Is methodical in the analysis. Lets the data lead to a decision.
Takes action to resolve gaps between performance and goals. Holds the plant teams accountable for delivering on their goals. Rewards and recognizes performance which generates sustainable results..
Drives a culture of "Do It Safe, Do It Right the First Time" with their actions and their words on a daily basis.

Required Qualifications:

BS in Chemical Engineering
10+ years experience in process, production, or project engineering
Chemical, food or pharmaceutical plant operations experience
Experience working with highly hazardous chemicals; toxic, flammable, pyrophoric
Progressive leadership experience with people responsibility
Working knowledge of Process Safety methodologies; Loss Prevention, LOPA and HAZOP, PSM or RMP
Root cause investigation and analysis
Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to multi-task
Self-starter with the ability to perform well under pressure and changing priorities
Ability to communicate concisely and effectively in written and verbal formats with stakeholders at multiple levels in the business.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification or equivalent knowledge
Statistical Process Control, Statistical Quality Control experience
5S and Lean Manufacturing experience
Able to learn technical chemical processes quickly in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Experience working in dynamic environments of short time to market and high customer expectations.
Experience working in an empowered organization.
Understanding of the principles of chemical process automation.
