Senior Manager, Global Supply Chain Functional Excellence Job

The Global Supply Chain (GSC) Senior Functional Excellence Manager provides leadership to the Supply Chain Function (Category Management – Contracting; Materials; Logistics; Payables; Supplier Development, etc.) and represents Supply Chain within the Planning Managers Network.  This position reports to the VP, Global Supply Chain and manages a team of 10 employees, 4 of which are direct reports.



Oversees the design and implementation of Global Supply Chain Processes and Systems.
Provides planning and support to the Vice President – Global Supply Chain (i.e., consolidated business planning, A3, Lean, budgeting, cost management, reporting, etc.).
Defines and implements Global Supply Chain Metrics (i.e. measuring performance within each ‘Service Offering’ – Category Management, Procure-To-Pay, Logistics and Materials).
Responsible for the design, deployment and operating rhythm of Management Information Reporting.
Supports the VP, GSC in all aspects of meeting operating rhythm – weekly, monthly, communications.
Provides oversight to the GSC Communication Plan.
Oversight of the GSC SharePoint site and standard collaboration toolset.
Serves as a mentor and “Functional Leader” for GSC– provides coaching, development counsel, advice on strategic and tactical GSC issues.
Champions the Business Controls Planning process and tracks trends to ensure GSC is a "learning organization"
Master Data owner for GSC function – defines, administers and controls master data requirements and processes for Vendor Master, Materials Master, Service Master, Logistics Master.
Program manages the Model Contracts Library initiative.
Establishes and manages a Contracting Governance Board solution tailored to the needs of Hess.
Serves as primary liaison with Internal Audit and drives timely resolution of audit findings and ensuring application of lessons learned.
Defines, identifies, and implements training and competency development for GSC Professionals.




  A minimum of 15 years of Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering experience required.
  International business (overseas) experience (Operations or Supply Chain), preferred.
  Complete Supply Chain Process/Management experience and knowledge.
  Systems application experience and knowledge (SAP, preferred).
  Working experience of supporting Operations.
  Strong skills in Continuous Improvement Tools and Problem Solving Techniques.
  Proven Ability To Manage Multiple Tasks, Prioritize Issues, Manage Diversity And Develop Creative Solutions To Achieve Results.
  Excellent Communication Skills (presentation; effective conversations and written).
  Experience in Team Work, Team Building, And Facilitation.
  Data Analysis Skills (Operational, Financial, Performance Metrics, etc.).
  Excellent Computer Skills including SAP; Microsoft Office Suite of Products, Internet, etc.


Education, Training & Certifications

Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
